Pray for our country Nigeria, that God will bring to an abrupt end the cases of insecurities in our land. Pray that the government will pay more attention to the cry of the masses. Ask God to expose those people sponsoring Fulani herdsmen and Boko haram and bring them to justice. Pray that God will give Nigerian genuine businessmen the enabling environment so they can create jobs for our teeming jobless youths.
Pray for Arab Australia Muslims who are 450,000 by population, ask the Lord to make the people to come in contact with the transforming love of God, also pray that the Lord will raise many Aussie Christians and Churches with a heart to learn Arabic and minister to Arabs. Pray for the Yoruba Muslims. Pray that the veil be taken off that their obsession to radicalize their youth will give way to the power of the gospel.
For some time now, we have been asking the Lord to provide us with a permanent property for our operations. Just the week before, the landlord (Baptist Mission) of our present rented office gave us quit notice which will expire on December 31st 2020. Pray that as we process our relocation that the Lord might guide and prosper the move. Pray for abundant provision to meet this need. If not for Covid, our Church leadership training conference today should have been the end of first in the three part leadership workshop we had slated for India. Pray for new opportunity in 2021.
We will be having a Kairos course towards the end of this month. Kairos is an overview of God’s mission, His world and Global Missions Involvement for anyone serious about doing God’s will. Pray that God will raise participants that will go through this training with a heart ready to hear God. Pray that they will catch the vision of God and become world Christians who will champion the cause of Christ around the world.
Thank God for the leadership of El-Rehoboth Foundation. Pray for His grace, wisdom and strength upon our Executive Director and his team. Pray for our Executive Board members as they have a virtual Board meeting this week to deliberate on issues that will move El-Rehoboth forward. Pray for the leading of the Holy Spirit and that God will grant them the grace to arrive at decisions that will honor God and prosper El-Rehoboth operations.
As we are approaching count-down to our Youth Empowerment Program – Kingdom Vanguard Africa (KVA) scheduled for Aug 15 & 16, Pray that God will give our planning team the wisdom on how to mobilize the young people for this virtual conference. Pray for the media equipment to be used during the online program, that God will give us and our audience good connectivity for the smooth running of the program.
Pray for a fresh outpouring of God’s Spirit upon the Church and a fresh encounter with the Person of Jesus. Pray that the Church will rise up to her responsibilities of taking the gospel to the unreached peoples. Pray that the Church will know more of the work left undone so they can take the Great Commission more seriously.
Dear Praying friends, associates and partners
Two of our staff members have tested positive speaking from Nehemiah in the past few weeks on how to stay faithfully On Duty, Despite the Covid. They inspired my reading that book again.
However, it was Matthew Henry note on Nehemiah’s 6th chapter in his Concise Commentary on the Whole Bible that I wish to here paraphrase and share with you:
“Let those who are tempted to idle meetings…be at it. We have work to do, and must not neglect it.
We must not succumb to repeated urgency to do anything sinful or imprudent; but when attacked with the same temptation to idleness, must resist it with the same reason and resolution. Malicious people often project their position as that of many. We must stay faithfully on all known duty even if we would be wrongly defined. We know God’s people, though loaded with reproach, are not really low in reputation as some would have them thought to be.
When we are assailed, like Nehemiah, we must lift up our hearts to Heaven in a short prayer. When, in our Christian work and warfare, we enter upon any service or conflict, this is a good prayer, I have such a duty to do, such a temptation to grapple with; now, therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.”
This August and always, may the Lord find us faithful in our resolve, dependence on His power and trusting in His covering. Please help us to pray.
Timothy Olonade, Team Leader
